With the ever rising attention on Asian art and aesthetics in the international community, discussions on cultural perspectives and values fused by the Asia Phenomenon are coming together as a trend of our times that sparks conversations and debates in various forms. Taipei Art Economy Research Centre (TAERC) devotes into developing the concept of Art Economy Initiatives (AEIs) by collaborating with global top universities and research institutes, which help to investigate and analyze economic activities in the field of visual art which is the main factor to influence the structure of art economy, and how art economy areas that intentionally remade themselves in the past have been able to influence their performance in the present, offering lessons for art industries, cities, and corporations around the world which face similar pressures in the face of changing economic and political circumstances. The thematic session aims to forge a platform for academic papers on the global visual arts industry. By bringing together industrial and academic resources and innovations, the platform is expected to cultivate leaders’ prospects in relevant sectors, collaborate on visual arts sustainability, and consolidate the industry’s vitality.
